Cameron Hawthorn - "Oh, Hot Damn"

After sharing his true self with the world with his last single, "Dancing In The Living Room," Cameron Hawthorn is ready to spread his wings with the playful new track "Oh, Hot Damn." Take a listen to the new single here!

We love to share emerging talents with y'all and Cameron Hawthorn is an exciting one who blends sounds from distinctly American genres like Folk, Pop/Rock, Americana and Country and they come out sounding unlike anything you've heard before. On his new single "Oh, Hot Damn!" he shows his playful side. The song is the follow-up to the emerging crooner's biggest hit to date, "Dancing In The Living Room." That song generated 200k views and garnered coverage from the likes of CMT, People Magazine and Huffington Post.

"Dancing In The Living Room" was created with the sense and underlying theme of showing your truest, most-vulnerable self. Hawthorn set out with a desire to deliver the message that "Love is Love," stating "For me and so many others, that message is beyond important."

Cameron continues, "It's a simple message but it needs to be told right now, in the world we live in." And living that truth, Cameron Hawthorn finally got to the point and deftly avoiding writing about romantic love, the singer came out of the closet. "I finally decided that I needed to record and release this as part of my journey."

“Dancing In The Living Room” narrates the feeling of dancing with a loved one in the most intimate of places. Hawthorn confides, “I remember always thinking how special it was to dance freely with my boyfriend in the living room of our apartment - being gay, it's not as easy to dance as a couple in public together as it is for a straight couple. I wanted to express how special that moment is for a
couple, when it's just the two of you in the privacy of your own four walls”. Featuring organic instrumentation and passionate heartfelt vocals that glide gently atop the soft sweeping melodies, “Dancing In The Living Room” is a wholehearted love song. The visuals further expresses the narrative, showcasing a side of Hawthorn that has never been revealed publicly.

Influenced by legendary artists like Jonny Cash, Elvis, James Taylor and Fleetwood Mac, among others, Hawthorn aims to make music with the same raw narrative they did: pure, real, classy and timeless. Growing up in a small town in Kansas, Cameron attributes his years in the midwest to the authentic and honest storytelling found in his music. And that brings us to the new single "Oh, Hot Damn," a song different from "Dancing in the Living Room" but as authentically Cameron Hawthorn.
