Roughstock: What made "Lightning Bugs" the right single to release?
I felt like it was a perfect snapshot of what it was like growing up in Kentucky. I'm sure I wasn't the only kid who played slip & Slide and backyard baseball with melted ice cream on their hands. I hope that everyone can find something in it they can relate to.
Roughstock: How would you describe your song selection process for making your album?
It was a tough process sorting through all the songs that I had written preparing for this project. But it was important to me to pick tunes that everyone could dig into and feel like they knew me on a personal level.
Roughstock: What was it like to work with Kent Wells in the studio for your project?
Amazing! Kent is such a talented guy. He just seemed to understand what I was going for. With his guidance this record just turned out above and beyond my expectations.
Roughstock: What was your experience like making the music video for the song?
Having never done a video before I really didn't know what to expect. But WOW ... It was so much fun and I think that shows up in the final end result. Having all my friends and family there, it was one great big party.
Roughstock: What one word best describes country music to you?
If I had to settle on just one ....
