Rising star Jordan Rager's debut single was supposed to be "Feels Like One Of Them" but the Broken Bow Records artist had been gaining momentum for another song, his "Southern Boy" anthem and after recording it with his mentor Jason Aldean, Broken Bow Records listen to the folks at radio and fans and issued "Southern Boy as his debut single instead.
The song is a strong mix of morals and heart and showcases Rager (pronounced Ray Gerr) quite nicely. He blends well with Jason Aldean on the song and it's easy to see why the song became such a buzzworthy piece of music. Production from Jeremy Stover is strong and the lyrics (written by Stover, Barry Dean and Luke Laird) are easy to understand and digest. While some will balk at an artist releasing a debut single with such an established superstar, I see it as a smart move for Rager and his label and one that only helps radio want to play the young man's music more in the future. Especially if the songs are as good as "Southern Boy" is.
