Southern Halo - "Little White Dress"

Take a listen to the rising trio Southern Halo's debut single here.

Reminding me of the first time I heard SheDaisy, Southern Halo are a trio of teenaged sisters of big sister and lead singer Natalia Morris, Christina 16 and Hannah 15. All three play instruments with Natalia playing guitar/keys, Christina drums/percussion and Hannah the bass guitar.

With "Little White Dress," a song Natalia co-wrote with Catt Gravitt and Gerald O'Brien, the trio are breaking out with a song that suits mainstream country radio with percussive loops joining strong harmonies. The lyrics and lead vocal from Natalia remind me of The Band Perry's Kimberly a little bit but  by the time the chorus kicks in, this band feels like the natural successors to SheDaisy's vacant slot of female family trios.

Given the age and talent of Southern Halo, I'd be surprised if they're not picked up by a bigger record label in the coming months as they're too talented to ride the indie league busses for too long. It's a path that Clare Dunn, Sam Hunt, Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell and other notable big label artists have all travelled and one Southern Halo is currently on.

Very refreshing. Reminds me of Pistol Annie's vocals. Surefire hit on The Highway; let's see how the braindeads at conventional country radio accept them. Remember they're the ones limiting females.
