Waterloo Revival - "Hit The Road"

Listen here to the debut single from Big Machine Records' newest artist.

One of the first new artists to arrive on the scene in 2015, from the first listen to "Hit The Road," Waterloo Revival has a pleasant sound to their music. Very pop/rock leaning, "Hit The Road" features the band's George Birge and Cody Cooper's gift with melody and songwriting and makes a story that's been told before sound refreshing (complete with unique similes) and new while retaining a timeless melody.

"Hit The Road" showcases Birge's vocals (which at times recall Barenaked Ladies's Stephen Page) and those unique lyrical phrases in the verses ("your kiss is like a sonnet I can't write/cause there ain't a word for what it feels like") make the song stand out amongst the pile of bland songs. The song has the sound of a hit (it is easy to picture the song being on a Luke Bryan or Thomas Rhett album for example). It's not "Bro" but it's not far off and that should be enough for "Hit The Road" to be the band's breakout hit with country radio and fans alike.
