Jackie Lee - "She Does"

Take a listen to the debut single from one of our "Ones To Watch in 2015."

Before pursuing a career in music, Jackie Lee played high school football at Alcoa High, where he was a teammate of future NFL receiver Randall Cobb. He grew up singing in church and his dad was a professional musician. He signed to Broken Bow Records and released his debut single, "She Does", in September 2014.

Written by Kelley Lovelace and Neil Thrasher, "She Does" showcases the power that women often have over the men in their lives, the power to make those men do what the women wanna do, no matter if the men like doing it or not. It's a common theme and something often explored in country music in various ways but this story is fresh enough and the neo-traditional feel to the production from Carson Chamberlain gives the song an added dose of modern realism.

What a great hook. I wish I had written this. I liked the afterthought "so I do" after "she does" because you could've just stopped with the "she does" but it was an extra lyrical piece of candy. Good melody and great production. Sounds current but also has a little bit of a traditional feel to it or at least definitely country. Lyrics are very personal and believable. Should be a hit in a good world.

Yeah, it's a simple but effective lyric. Broken Bow is far from giving up on it though it's struggled with the rush of new music from stars and holiday releases.
