A rising star in the USA but already a star in Canada, Steven Lee Olsen is set to break out with this single, his debut in the USA. Vocally, Steven Lee Olsen sounds like a mix between Love and Theft's Stephen Barker Liles and Keith Urban and melodically, "Raised By A Good Time" feels like one of the youthful tracks Keith Urban's been known for.
The production on "Raise By A Good Time" is clean, clear and precisely of the moment. The song's lyrics, which Steven Lee Olsen wrote with Christopher Stevens and Cary Barlowe, doesn't say too much but it does evoke the memory of wild and care free summers of teenaged years where you're just getting started with life and the good times, even if what you're doing may always feel a little dangerous or against the law.
As far as first singles go (listen above), "Raised By A Good Time" is a strong one. It announces a strong-voiced talent in Steven Lee Olsen and a talented songwriter to keep your eye on as 2014 becomes 2015.
