Known for many years as "Grand Ole Opry Star Jack Greene," The singer was also know as the Gentle Green Giant for many of his star-making years in the 1960s an 1970s. While health took him away from touring in recent years, he made many appearances on The Grand Ole Opry before passing away from complications from Alzheimer's disease late last night.
"There Goes My Everything" helped the Opry star become the first CMA Awards winner for Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year in 1967.
