While unveiling her new single “Surburban Outlaw,” Nashville’s rising star Maggie Antone has announced that she’s partnered with Thirty Tigers for a distribution deal with her own label Love Big. The song was written by Antone and co-produced by Carrie K (Noah Kahan, Jessie Murph, Sufi Waterhouse). The song’s video was directed by David O’Donohue.
“Comparison is the thief of joy,” says Antone. “Music isn’t a competition, it’s a community.”
Like many rising stars these days, Maggie Antone experienced a surge of popularity via TikTok when she shared an unfinished clip of the song on the viral video platform. The original video garnered 1 million views in less than 24 hours and has now reached nearly 3 million views.
Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Antone has been hailed as a bold new voice in the roots music (or Alternative Country Music) scene and her cover of Tyler Childers’ “Lady May” won her instant attention and released a follow-up collection, Interperations, in 2022 to early acclaim. Antone has made music her full-time job since leaving college in late 2021 and she’s determined to make music that connects with people and write songs that make audiences feel seen and heard, a quality she admires in artists who have inspired her to choose her career path.
