The War and Treaty Release Stellar Take of Chris Stapleton’s “Cold”

The performance was recorded live from the Academy of Country Music Honors event.

Husband and wife duo The War And Treaty are back with a scorching new single, their bold take on Chris Stapleton’s RIAA-certified, Grammy-winning song “Cold.” The War And Treaty performed the song live at the Academy of Country Music Honors event in celebration of Chris Sapleton receiving the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award. The War And Treaty’s Tanya and Michael Trotter, Jr performed the stellar song to a packed house at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The song, which Chris Stapleton co-wrote with Dave Cobb, J.T. Cure, and Derek Mixson, first appeared on Stapleton’s Grammy-winning Starting Over album.

The War And Treaty, who recently won the Americana Music Association’s Duo/Group of the Year award for the second year in a row are also up for their first-ever Country Music Association (CMA) Award for Vocal Duo of the Year. They’re currently out on tour — Named after their Mercury Records debut Lover’s Game — in the USA and Europe on their Lover’s Game World Tour where they’ve also sprinkled in appearances at Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show Tour and collaborated with Zach Bryan on the top-streaming track “Hey Driver” from his latest album. In addition, the duo have recorded the iconic “Sunday Kind of Love” as the backdrop for Bud Light’s new “Easy to Sunday” campaign that rolled out during the NFL’s Sunday Night Football.
