Boy Named Banjo Announce Major Label Debut Album “Dusk” and New Single “Lonely In This Town”

The genre-bending band’s major label debut is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2023 via Mercury Records Nashville.

Since signing to Mercury Records Nashville in 2020, Boy Named Banjo has been delivering several streaming hits via their EP Circles and subsequent singles. Working with longtime collaborator Oscar Charles in the producers chair, the band’s 9 track major label debut album Dusk features an electrifying dose of tunes that run the gamut from late-night, fall-in-love party anthems to stripped-down mediations. The band blends sonic styles better than perhaps any other band these days and look to bring these songs to their fans via their high-octane live shows.

To that end, the band will release the song “Lonely In This Town” from Dusk while also planning for their upcoming Dusk Til Dawn tour which will launch September 14th in Atlanta with more dates hitting cities like Louisville, Athens, Los Angeles, Austin, San Diego, Memphis, Chattanooga, DC, Columbus (OH), along with festival performances in Franklin, TN (Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival) and Monterey, CA (Rebels and Renegades Music Festival). The tour will have support acts in nearly every city (either Brother Elsey, Will Jones or Cassandra Lewis will be there with the band).

About the new single, Banjo frontman Barton Davies says “I’ve always felt like ‘Lonely In This Town’ is best enjoyed driving with the windows down in your car,” He continues, “The music feels uplifting and euphoric with the three-part harmonies and steady groove, but then the lyrics come in and give the complete opposite vibe. It’s almost like you’re lonely but you’re happy about it. I love that duality in the song.”

Dusk will hit all stores on September 29, 2023.
