Brett Young Releases “Lady” To Radio and Streaming Partners

The track, written for his newborn daughter, serves as lead single from forthcoming project.

The man behind six consecutive number one hits, Brett Young, takes his multi-platinum talent (like a modern Collin Raye as a unique vocalist, especially with heartfelt tunes) to the new single “Lady.” The song is sentimental ode to his daughter Presley and his wife Taylor Mills Young. The song was written with Ross Copperman and Jon Nite just before Presley’s birth in October 2019.

“‘Lady’ is easily one of the most special songs I’ve ever written,” Young said. "I always knew I would want to write songs for my children, but didn’t realize the inspiration would come so quickly before my daughter was even born. It’s a message to Presley about her mom and it became a pretty obvious choice for my first single in a new chapter of music. It’s so meaningful to Taylor and I, and I hope it resonates in a similar way for anyone who listens.”

The song serves as the lead single from Young’s forthcoming third album. Young avoided the sophomore slump with his second album Ticket To L.A., an emotional collection of songs which featured the #1 hits “Here Tonight” and “Catch.” He co-wrote those songs and emotive “Don’t Wanna Write This Song,” a track that was featured with impactful videos and a haunting lyric about heartbreak that comes in the most unexpected of ways. Young’s self-titled debut record was certified Platinum and featured the #1 hits “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Mercy,” “Sleep Without You,” and “Like I Loved You.”
