Maren Morris Scores First #1 Hit With “I Could Use A Love Song”

The Award-winning singer/songwriter - the most-played female artist in country music for 2017 - see's third single from debut album “Hero” achieved the top slot this week.

She may not have had a #1 single prior to today but that’s about the only musical accomplishment Maren Morris had yet to achieve. The song to finally score #1 (on both Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and Mediabase’s Country chart? It was“I Could Use A Love Song,” the third and final single from her 2016 release Hero. This smash hit follows Maren's trailblazing Top 10 debut hit “My Church” and the Gold-certified follow-up “80s Mercedes.” In addition to her RIAA awards for those songs, Maren also scored a Grammy Award for “Best Country Solo Performance” last year for “My Church” and also scored the New Artist of the Year award from the 2016 CMA Awards. Finally, “I Could Use A Love Song” is up for “Best Country Solo Performance” at the Grammy Awards later this month.

Maren’s accolades continue as she was the most-played female artist at country radio in 2017 and has toured the country as both a supporting and healing touring act. She also released the single “Dear Hate” after the Las Vegas Massacre to help heal and soothe (and donated the proceeds from the powerful song to charities relating to the event).

Look for Maren to release new material from a forthcoming album in 2018 while touring with Niall Horan on his Flicker World Tour 2018.
