Singer/songwriter Aubrie Sellers may not be a household name yet but you take one listen to her voice, you can hear the natural gifts as a vocalist that being the child of famous recording artists and songwriters provides.

Her first song, “Loveless Rolling Stone,” premiered on NPR Music’s “Songs We Love” series yesterday (October 6, 2015).

The song is from her debut album, New City Blues, which will hit stores on January 29, 2015 via Carnival Recordings and Thirty Tigers. The album was produced by award-winning producer Frank Liddell and features 14 tracks recorded in Nashville.

Of the music, Sellers, comments, “My influences are all over the place: the Kinks, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Buddy and Julie Miller, Creedence, even Ricky Skaggs. Led Zeppelin is my biggest rock influence—and that goes right straight, for me, to Ralph Stanley. That raw bluegrass, the banjo, that’s the same energy and intensity you get in punk. It’s all music that’s driven, that’s haunted, that cuts and moves.”

Her music, she adds, “is so much more like garage rock, that raw raging stuff. Maybe you could say it’s ‘garage country’?!”

Aubrie’s famous parents are Lee Ann Womack and songwriter/singer/musician Jason Sellers and she’s appeared on albums from artists like Miranda Lambert, David Nail and Ralph Stanley. It is Aubrie’s vocals heard on David Nail’s track “Brand New Day” from his most-recent release I’m A Fire.

Aubrie Sellers is currently on tour with Hayes Carll and (later) John Moreland.
