Carissa Leigh 2015 CMA Music Fest Recap

The rising singer/songwriter discusses her favorite moments from the annual festival hosted by the CMA in Nashville, Tennessee.

Every year, I look forward to CMA Fest and the opportunity to be around country music and country fans for 4 days straight! Here are some of my favorite performances from this year.

Dierks Bentley:

I've always been a fan of Dierks but his last album, Riser, put him at the top of my list. He did not disappoint live! He is probably my favorite male artist right now.

Ashley Monroe:

Ashley is one of my favorite songwriters in Nashville. I'll hear a song I love, look up the writers, and quite often Ashley will be one of them! Between her songs and her voice, I loved every second of her performance. I am so excited that one of my new songs, So Long, was co-written by Ashley. She knows how to turn a phrase and write a song that is killer to perform live.

Rock N Soul Show:

My six year old became obsessed with The Voice last season. She and I became big fans of Sarah and Meghan almost instantly. Sarah is everything I love about female rock singers and Meghan's voice can do just about anything. It was fun to see them join Kimberly belt it out live and I always love how the Hard Rock handles their shows so professionally.

Little Big Town:

I saw LBT at a county fair in Kalispell, Montana about 5 years ago right after Little White Church hit top 10. I love everything about them from the harmonies, to the production, to Karen's amazing fashion sense, and Kimberly's hair. They killed it at LP Field, as usual.

Brothers Osborne:

In a world of "bro-country," the Brothers Osborne have stayed true to who they are as artists and as a duo, which I really respect! Their newest single "Stay a Little Longer" is so great and I loved hearing something a little different than what I have been hearing on the radio right now.

I was able to catch some other performances by up and comers like Josh Dorr, Adam Sanders, and Stephanie Quayle.

I had an amazing time playing the AT&T U-verse showcase stage. If you missed it, you can check it out on the AT&T U-verse Buzz App that is launching soon! I also was able to play at the Wildhorse, which is one of my favorite places to play downtown.

One of my favorite parts of CMA Fest is wearing some festival fashion. Country fans have so much style! You can see some of the outfits I wore on my Instagram - carissaleighmusic and let me know what you think!

I took some friends to Legends and Paradise Park to give them the honky tonk experience. It's impossible to have a bad time when you're with friends and good music.

Country music has the greatest fans! I love that every year, we can all get together and enjoy sharing the music together! The countdown begins for next year!!
