Newcomer Sarah Ross Covers "You're No Good"

The Average Joes Entertainment artist takes on the Linda Ronstadt classic.

Rising artist Sarah Ross is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Linda Ronstadt’s “You're No Good” by paying homage to the track, which can now be purchased from the Average Joes’ recording artist via Google Play and iTunes.

“I’m honored to introduce this song to a whole new generation of fans,” said 19-year old Sarah Ross. “Growing up, my mom used to play the song all the time at home, and it has always been one of my favorites.”

The song was originally written by Clint Ballard Jr. in 1963 and was first released by Dee Dee Warwick but first charted for Betty Everett in 1963 where it peaked at #51 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart and #5 on Cashbox’s R&B Locations chart. In 1975, Linda Ronstadt took the song to #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Ross, who was an early contestant on the 12th season of American Idol, has appeared on a handful of Mud Digger compilations and she’s set to release her debut EP in 2015. Ross was signed to Average Joes Entertainment since the label’s head Shannon Houchins saw her on American Idol. The singer has recorded with The Lacs and has appeared on those Mud Digger compilations with Colt Ford, LoCash, Montgomery Gentry, and also appeared with Colt Ford on “We All Country,” a song by the Moonshine Bandits.
