Country Album Sales Report - September 10, 2014

Miranda Lambert Dominates while newcomer Frank Foster surprises.

Thanks to a massive sales increase of 94% Miranda Lambert jumps from #7 to #1 on this week's chart with Platinum, stealing a second week at #1 away from Brad Paisley's Moonshine In The Trunk, which sits at #2 with 69k sold in two weeks. Right behind Brad is Luke Bryan with the Double Platinum Crash My Party. The surprise debut is indie artist Frank Foster with 9,000 fans taking home his Rhythm and Whiskey album, giving him a Top 5 debut, higher than he's ever been before and it's something sure to spark interest from Music Row (it was also good enough for an all-genre Top 20). Chase Rice rounds out the Top 5 with Ignite The Night.

Thanks for the update. What was the reason Miranda got the 94% bounce from 9,000 sales the previous week? Discounting? TV exposure? Brad's album not selling well on week 2, bang goes another GOLD album.

What a thing to say stealing a week away. Brad's #s where very small, lets be honest. Did you word it that way when Blake put his cd on sale and stole another #1 week from Miranda? No! Miranda has a pretty big opening week in any genre, but I feel like you never give Lambert her due.

Never give her her 'due?' Really? We've been super positive about her a lot. Brad's team probably thought he'd have another week at #1 but with Miranda's success with appearances and sales, she stole his thunder. THAT was the point of the line.
