"Big Smo" TV Show Debuts on A&E With Strong Ratings Numbers

A&E has tried to find something Nashville and Music related to pair with their runaway hit "Duck Dynasty" and it appears they may have found it with "Big Smo," named after the rural Country rapper and star of the same name.

Jaded TV Critics may not be big fans of Big Smo’s TV series but apparently America is as the Rural Rapper debuted as the #5 Most-watched TV show on Ad-Supported TV last Wednesday night. It’s a strong number (even if it’s 1/2 of lead-in and #1 show “Duck Dynasty”’s massive audience) and suggests that A&E may finally have found the right show to partner with “Duck Dynasty” in their Wednesday night TV block.

“Big Smo” focuses on the rising Country music artist’s life with his two daughters, his girlfriend and his mother/manager. The show should promise some down-home ‘all in good fun’ moments, much like his national debut album Kuntry Livin’, an album which entered the Billboard Country Album Sales Chart in the Top 10 last week.

The "Big Smo" show beat shows like "American Pickers" and "Catfish."
