Brad Paisley will take a break from his touring schedule this summer, as he has been announced as a member of the panel of experts on ABC’s new singing competition series Rising Star. Singer/songwriter Josh Groban will host, while Paisley, pop music sensation Kesha and hip hop artist and actor Ludacris will be the panel of experts on the show that premieres Sunday, June 22.
Rising Star reinvents the traditional singing competition by being the first ever interactive music competition and the audience has the final say in real time. The show follows a group of aspiring singers as they perform live. During the performances, viewers vote in real time via an App to determine if the singer will advance in the competition. If the voting reaches a certain threshold, the performer moves on. In addition, the performer can see how the voting is going throughout the performance, so the feedback is immediate and dramatic.
Rising Star will premiere on ABC June 22 from 9:00 – 11:00PM ET.
