Tyler Dickerson - "Tell Your Sister I'm Single"

Hmm. A 16-year-old kid on the usually kiddie-safe Lyric Street label, singing a song called "Tell Your Sister I'm Single." This could be very interesting. Does the 16 year old sound more like pop singer Justin Bieber or does he sound completely different?

And interesting it is. Had I not looked it up, I never would've guessed that Tyler Dickerson is only fifteen. He has a slightly gruff, engaging twang that at times recalls Danny Shirley of Confederate Railroad. Trent Tomlinson and Jason Aldean are also good reference points. Just like any of the aforementioned artists, he rocks out at all the right times, and the production rocks out with him. He's certainly found his niche, and he sings with confidence and brio.

The premise is exactly what I was expecting from the title: he's had it with her, now he's going for her sister. Don't worry, it's not as creepy as it sounds. Tyler clearly plays the premise for laughs, so you don't have to worry about what kind of mingling he wants her mama to know about.

Tyler is certainly in an interesting position. He's the young, cute kind of boy that the Taylor Swift crowd will easily be fawning over just because of his looks, but who knows how they'll react to his rock influences. I guess that's where people such as I step in to praise him for his music.

Yeah, he's got it.
