Carrie Underwood Variety Special Airs Tonight

Tonight on Fox, the network where she became a household name via American Idol, Carrie Underwood is hosting a two-hour, holiday extravaganza called An All-Star Holiday Special. Will you be watching to see if this show will once again become a TV staple?

Tonight on Fox, the network where she became a household name via American Idol, Carrie Underwood is hosting a two-hour, holiday extravaganza called An All-Star Holiday Special. Once a staple of TV (and country music), the show is a test to see if it's woth coming back.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Carrie said, "Nowadays it seems like every show is about, like, murder or police and people shooting at each other so I think it's really great they're making a comeback because...it's really good family programming."

The show airs for two hours at 8/7c with special guests that include Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and Idol rocker David Cook.  Neil Patrick Harris and Ryan Seacrest also appear along with Carrie's mother and sister.
