Faith Hill Scores Two of the Top 10 hits of the Decade

With two singles released in the early part of the decade, Faith Hill has scored something no other artist achieved this decade.  She's scored two songs inside the all-genre list of the Top 10 singles of the decade, according to Billboard Magazine.

With “Breathe” and “The Way You Love Me,” both of which were hits at the beginning of this decade, Faith Hill has become the only artist to have more than one song in the Top 10 of the all genre airplay charts.

“When I heard this I didn’t even know what to say,” said Faith Hill.  “I was absolutely floored.  The idea that these songs have connected the way that they have, with so many people, is just magical to me – it’s a tremendous honor.  It’s what inspires me to continue to make music.”

Both of the songs appear on Hill’s best-selling album Breathe, a record which introduced the singer to a crossover audience.  The songbird would go on to release an even more ‘pop-sounding album in Cry before returning to her roots with the solid Fireflies album.

“Breathe” spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Chart (now Hot Country Songs), 17 weeks in the pole position on the Hot Adult Contemporary and hit the top spot on the Adult Top 40 Chart.  The song also reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and remained on the chart for an astonishing 53 weeks.

“The Way You Love Me” spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Charts in May of 2000 and was a Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 and AC track.

Faith is currently working on her seventh studio recording.
