Carrie Underwood gives thanks to her childhood teacher and mentor while Joe Nichols gives thanks 
for his sobriety after addiction nearly ruined his career and marriage. Zac Brown of his namesake band gives thanks for his stellar year in 2009, which in addition to becoming a star includes the birth of his daughter; “Shelly just gives me strength to be the man that I need to be. Nothing will ever be better than what I have. I know that.” Brown adds, “Even if I go camping, I wanna go home so I can get up with my girls.”
The issue also includes features about Martina McBride, the story behind Dierks Bentley's latest hit, "I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes" and how stars give back during the holiday season. Finally, the magazine gives a gift guide before sharing a few favorite deserts from the stars along with recipies and five favorite holiday sides.
