With "Strange" having done its job in reminding people of Reba's presence within the current country music climate, Reba now returns with a song that sounds and feels more like a classic "Reba song" than "Strange" or any of her final 5 singles for MCA Nashville. The hook of the track is very strong and memorable, the production doesn't ever drown out Reba's voice and the verses of the song (written by Steve Diamond and Marv Green, both writers of previous Reba hits) serve that hook perfectly.
While it's true that Reba McEntire could have recorded and released a single that is 'mindblowing' and 'artistically meaningful' to some, she has chosen to make what she has always made, a radio-ready single thats for the masses -her audience- not those of us who make a living writing about the music. That's enough for Reba and, in this case, it's enough for me and it's likely going to be more than enough for the fans.
