Reba McEntire - "Strange"

With this single Country music's most successful female artist returns to her rightful place on the charts with an absolute winner of a single.  Radio would have to be absolutely "Strange" to not play this catchy, hook-filled reactionary tale to the ending of a relationship.

Isn't it "Strange" to hear new music from Reba McEntire that sounds entirely contemporary and country at the same time?  With a lyric that finds Reba feeling a little bit weird about not 'home in the bed with the pillow cryin.'  Instead of being sad about the end of a relationship, Reba's taking the route that many people who realize the relationship they were in was a bad one feel, they feel damn good. "Ain't love strange" Reba sings and, well she and the song's writers, Wendell Mobley, Jason Sellers and Neil Thrasher are right. What love does to people is strange, even if it 'lucky' to 'wake up with the sun shining.'

There's no denying that this single is an absolute whopper of a hit single.  While anybody could've sung this song and made it a hit, Reba wraps her strong vocal around the song and doesn't let go.  She sounds renewed, refreshed and ready to conquer the charts once again, something that may indeed be very "Strange" to many young Country fans.
