Kenny Chesney & Mac McAnally - Down The Road

To follow-up his last single, the Number one "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven," Kenny has chosen to forego the beach for the simple, down home, and just plain rootsy Mac McAnally penned duet "Down The Road."

With both the single "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven" and the album "Lucky Old Sun" having placed at the top of the charts, Kenny Chesney's undoubtedly on top of the world.  His second single from the album is going to be "Down The Road," an old Mac McAnally song that Kenny not only reprises but sings as a duet with Mac.  It's one of my favorite tracks from the album and it tells a sweet story of a boy falls for the girl who lives 'just down the road' from him.  Like many of Mac's songs, the song has a simple elegance to it in both melody and lyric that compells the listener to appreciate it even more. Here's hoping that Kenny can score another Number One hit for one of Nashville's best songwriters, who also happens to be a member of Jimmy Buffet's "Coral Reefer Band."
