Everyone always talks about the great ones
The guys who came way before my time
Their pictures hung up and down the hallway
I dream about being in their shoes one day

In life there are no answers for sure G
But I canÕt help but feel like IÕve got one foot in the door.
Willie and Waylon what a pair they were
Singing songs about places IÕve been
Johnny Cash was great during his time
HeÕs still making music better than mine
Maybe one day that light will shine on me
People come from all around cause IÕm the one they want to see
In life there are no answers for sure
But I canÕt help but feel like IÕve got one foot in the door

One foot in may not be that much
Fulfilling a dream no one else can touch
IÕm not a man that asks for much more
Cause I feel like IÕve got one foot in the door
My dad had his big shot once
He gave it up for his family he loved
Momma always told me to chase my dreams
To finally be on stage and sing
To have fans of my own in the crowd
CanÕt hear myself think cause their so loud
In life there are no answers for sure
But I canÕt help but feel like IÕve got one foot in the door

Every day I sit down at my desk and write
Hoping to find a song that may change my life
Failures, triumphs and good time with my friends
Having them by my side until the very end
Our times together will end for sure
IÕll never forget they were here for me when I had one foot in the door.
