King Calaway & The Shires - "The Climb"

King Calaway are joined by the UK's top country band The Shires (also their BBR Music Group labelmates) for this inspired cover of Miley Cyrus' inspirational hit.

When you look at King Calaway, it’s obvious that this group of six members takes its influences from the boybands of past like Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and New Kids On The Block and current like Five Seconds of Summer, while there have been a few attempts to market to the same fans who like those bands in country music’s past (about 20 years ago there were two, “South Sixty-Five” and “Marshall Dyllon”) but really, the only one to break that would even fit that realm who had any sort of longterm success was Rascal Flatts and that’s the most apt band comparison to King Calaway as both bands trade in the pop flavored sounds of country music and both bands feature actual musicians, not primarily vocalists.

Chris Deaton, Simpn Dumas, Chad Michael Jervis, Jordan Harvey, Austin Luther and Caleb Miller make up the band and with “No Matter What” on the radio, the six piece band recently started “Nashville’s House Band Series” as a way to cheer up those quarantined at home during this period of social distancing. Every week they team up with other country stars to help unite everyone worldwide to the Nashville community that’s withstood quite the year (Tornadoes just before the pandemic) and continues to stay strong. It all goes to the band’s core mission behind their music.

For this song, King Calaway has teamed with The Shires, the hit country duo from the UK which recently released their new album Good Years worldwide and through BBR Music Group here in the USA. The album debuted in the Top 3 of the UK's charts and further cements the duo of Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle as the best-selling UK Country act of all time. Together the two acts created a great take on the powerful "The Climb" and we look forward to more of these songs from King Calaway and friends in the near future.
