Shane Owens - "19"

Released in time for the 4th of July, take a moment to think about those who have and continue to serve our nation so that we can shoot off fireworks and party in America. Listen to "19" here!

Alabama’s Shane Owens has a cool new traditional country album on his hands with Where I’m Comin’ From, his debut for AmeriMonte Records, and the singer’s latest single “19” does what the greatest country songs have done. Tell a story. It’s a song about a man who has everything at his feet before going off to serve his country in a war. It’s a song that could actually serve as Pat Tillman’s story if some lyrics were slightly changed and, to me, that’s high praise.

“19” tells the cold hard truth about war and how it can affect a family and community and there are few songs coming out in 2017 that match the impact “19” makes in less than three minutes of play. With “19,” Shane Owens delivers a passionate and patriotic single that works for more than veterans day, July 4th, and Memorial Day. Instead, it’s a powerful song about a life lived and is relatable on so many levels.
