Fearless

Some people will say this single doesn't deserve being one of Roughstock's Best Singles of 2009 while others will think that it's too low on the charts. We love the song but we loved other songs even more. Still, the song is our 31st favorite of the year.  Agree?

While most of Taylor's fans likely have the original version of Fearless, they're likely going to want their own copy of this album as well as it features not only one or two bonus tracks but six new ones along with a dvd full of videos.

With the biggest sales week of the year, Rock icons U2 have knocked Country-Pop star Taylor Swift from the pole position on the charts with nearly 500,000 CDs sold last week.  There was a surpise Top 3 appearance from a critically acclaimed indie Alt-Country artist too.

After last week's strong chart numbers, the dismal state of the Hot Album Charts return as the high of the Grammy Awards is officially over.  Still, It's not all bad for some artists, particularly Taylor Swift as she once again dominates the chart, for the 10th week.

After a remarkable run that tied Usher and his "Confessions" album's chart-topping run of 8 weeks, Taylor Swift saw her "Fearless" album finally dethroned.  It took a legend and is latest release to do it.  What other country albums made the chart this week?

What's that you hear? Is it the sound of another label closing or the sound of traditionalists closing up their instrument cases?  Whatever the sound is, it wasn't good for Country music in 2008.  What can be done in '09 to stop the bleeding? Anything?

For the second time in three years a Country music artist has topped Neilsen SoundScan's year-end, all-genre cumulative album sales chart.  Rascal Flatts did so in 2006 and Teen Queen Taylor Swift takes home the honor this year, beating out the likes of Lil' Wayne.

Over the past two and a half years country fans have seen Taylor Swift morph from 16 year-old teen star into the young adult star she is now.  It's a transformation that is complete as songs like "White Horse" announce the true arrival of a songwriting tour-de-force.
