Roughstock has learned today that Texas music star Kevin Fowler (the songwriter of "Beer Bait & Ammo," "Long Line of Losers,") who formerly had a national record deal with Clint Black's Equity Records, has signed a deal with Disney-owned Lyric Street Records.

Austin, TX-based The Band Of Heathens have recently released this album, their 2nd self-made affair.  It consists of sterling country rock that remains faithful to the ways of the past while making its own mark.

Well here's a surprise. A genuine country song from a new artist that recalls the best of Strait, Jackson and Paisley.  The song also has a don't-take-myself-too-serious feel that helps make it a very nice song to listen to.  But will it get a shot at national success?
