Taylor Swift seemingly shocked the country music world when she took home the award for Female Vocalist of the Year at last night's 43rd CMA Awards.  The 19 year-old superstar broke records once again by taking that award and three more awards.

The CMA announced their latest round of performers for the 43rd edition of the Country Music Assoication Awards.  Tim McGraw and Vince Gill were announced along with six other acts, including rock band Daughtry.  Should a rock band be allowed on a country show?

It was another strong week at retail for country music as Reba McEntire's Keep On Loving You gave the genre its third chart-topping week, after the Number One debuts of Sugarland's Live On The Inside and George Strait's Twang.  How did the rest of the chart shake out?

With most genres of music not selling all that well on the album front, Country music remains one of the last ones to continue to sell well on the charts.  Sugarland and Gloriana both debut at the top of the Hot 200 charts while 14 other country CDs are also in the Top 50.
