While touring to support last year's Sleepless Nights Patty Loveless realized how much people loved Mountain Soul, her 2001 release which featured rootsy bluegrass arrangements so she decided to do this record, a follow-up album.

On Halloween, Roughstock had the pleasure of discussing country music's massive history with country icon Patty Loveless.  Along with discussing her classics album "Sleepless Nights," we also discussed her passion for passing the torch along with us introducing Joey+Rory to her.

Patty Loveless loves the songs she grew up listening to and after leaving the major labels behind, she decided to record "Sleepless Nights." A collection of traditional country tunes.  "Crazy Arms" is one of the songs from the fine collection.

Since the release of his last album over four years ago, Jimmy Wayne has lost one record deal and saw a couple of singles not chart as expected before "Do You Believe Me Now" charted earlier this year. The single has done so well that Jimmy and his new label, The Valory Music Company, have named his sophomore album after it. While firmly a pop-based country album, the record also features deeply personal lyrics directly from Wayne's life.

Jimmy and his new record label The Valory Music Company are set to release "Do You Believe Me Now" on August 26. Here's a preview sample of his duet with Patty Loveless.

This beautiful song is one of the highlights of Patty Lovless' long career. Karen Taylor-Good wrote it at a time when she was struggling to break through as a songwriter.
