With "Blue Sky," Capitol Records Nashville is sticking with Emily West with the hopes that this super talented artist can finally get something up the charts.  Will this beautiful and lyrical ballad, which gets an assist from Keith Urban, be her breakthrough?

Emily West had one of 2008's best singles with "Rocks In Your Shoes" and with "That Kind of Happy," the twentysomething vocalist not only comes out with her follow-up single but a song that actually might be an even better song with a great chance of being a hit.

Emily West quietly released a 4-song EP on iTunes in late 2007 and then released this song in early 2008.  While it barely made the Top 40 at country radio, It still impressed us.  That's enough to make this single land the thirty-third spot on our year-end countdown.

One of the great things about living in Nashville is the ability to see many artists perform on a nightly basis. Matt Jenkins and Emily West performed Wednesday, August 6th to a packed house at the Rutledge and gave the audience over two hours worth of superb music.
