Phil Vassar was a popular songwriter in the late 1990s and saw his career take off earlier this decade.   He recently transferred from Arista Nashville to Universal Records South.  While he wrote most of his hits, his last single from "Prayer of a Common Man," "Love is a Beautiful Thing" wasn't.  The question of the day, it seems, can Phil Vassar score a hit with his own composition.
