Blake Shelton returned from Los Angeles yesterday to partake in his Annual Fan Club Party. Held at the Wildhorse Saloon, the party featured a non-traditional set list and the proceeds were donated to charity. Read on to find more.

This week's chart numbers - with no big new releases - truly reflected the reach of both the CMT Music Awards and Nashville's CMA Music Festival.  Most of the country albums on this week's rundown experienced great sales gains or at least remained where they were. 

Today the CMA did what we hoped it would do.  They announced that next month's CMA Music Festival will now split who the benefactor is for the event.  instead of 'just' being for arts programs at schools, the CMA will give 50% of the money generated to flood relief efforts. 

The Judds, Joey + Rory, Neal McCoy, Jake Owen, Josh Turner, Clay Walker, Rodney Atkins, Gretchen Wilson, Chris Young, Patty Loveless, Mark Chesnutt, Joe Nichols, Mel Tillis and Sammy Kershaw are among the many artists announced to participate in the daily shows.

The Country Music Association announced today their latest round of CMA Music Festival performers as Trace Adkins and Blake Shelton head the list of new artists coming to LP Field for the nightly concerts.  Danny Gokey and Easton Corbin and others will be joining them.

The annual event, formerly called Fan Fair, has announced its first round of major performers this year as Lady Antebellum, The Zac Brown Band, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band and Carrie Unerwood all agreed to participate.

The CMA will host its first-ever live Twitter feed on ABC.com, Monday, Aug. 31 (8:00 - 11:00 PM/ET), during "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock," airing on the ABC Television Network. Lady Antebellum, Trace Adkins, Reba & Kellie Pickler are among the artists tweeting.

The Country Music Association announced today that superstar Kenny Chesney will close out the 4 day CMA Music Festival with a set at LP Field Sunday night.  The CMA Also included a rundown of all the events happening during the 4 day Festival in Downtown Nashville.

Reba and Taylor Swift were recently announced as participants in the 2009 CMA Music Festival. Julianne Hough, Montgomery Gentry, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, and Wynonna will also meet their fans in the Greased Lightning Fan Fair Hall this year.

Today the CMA announced the additions of Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts and Wynonna to the nightly performance schedule of the CMA Music Festival events at Nashville's LP Fieldfor the event on June 11-14, 2009.  They join the numerous performers already announced.
