Here Come Those Dreams Again (Eagle Eye)r e v i e w
If you enjoy moping along with Chris Isaac, or crying to Raul Malo (The Mavericks) tunes, then the moody singing David Fisher provides here ought to be right up your ally. Although much of this music
is derivative, it's also derivative in the best possible way.
Fisher sings so much about dreams here you'd almost think he was some sort of a cowpoke Sigmund Freud. In addition to the title track, another one called "Dreamin' of a Woman" sleeps restlessly in
a minor key. This group picks up the pace with the Elvis-y "Don't Mind Messin'," and quiets things down to an acoustic Everly Brothers arrangement for "What Would You Do."
As with Isaac and Malo, Fisher mainly sings about love and romance here. But he's not always the good guy, as "Don't Mind" tells the story about a guy that runs around on his girl, yet isn't ever
hesitant to receive her love - if, of course, she's foolish enough to give it. "Lovin' You" is a straight ahead song about doing the right thing, however.
Big Blue Hearts is most certainly a lonely hearts club band, but it's also a club you probably wouldn't mind joining.
