Over the course of his career, George Strait has recorded a couple of Christmas albums but none of them have sounded quite like "Classic Christmas," originally released a few years ago as "Fresh Cut Christmas" when the collection was sold in Hallmark Stores.  Now available for everyone, the collection is a simple ten track collection of yuletide favorites.  "Joy To The World" leads off the album and it really sounds at home in the hands of a country vocalist like George.  "We Three Kings" is given a tasteful arrangement as is "Silent Night."

"Jingle Bells" is one of the most well-known songs throughout the world and the western swing arrangement is pure fun as is George's reading of the playful "Up On The Housetop."  Tradition is alive and well on "Classic Christmas" and quite simply, George Strait has created a fine, classic Christmas album. While many Christmas albums are released every year, few are as timeless sounding as "Classic Christmas."  It's a record that can easily be played in the years to come.
