Each year Target stores team up with NBC to present "Sounds Of The Season" collections. This year they selected Julianne Hough to represent Country music.  Her EP features a mixture of contemporary holiday favorites.

Phil Vassar has been a successful artist for a decade yet has seen the hits harder to come by.  In the early half of the year he changed to a new label and scored a big hit with "Love Is A Beautiful Thing."  It is good enough to land at 32 on our year-end list.

Emily West quietly released a 4-song EP on iTunes in late 2007 and then released this song in early 2008.  While it barely made the Top 40 at country radio, It still impressed us.  That's enough to make this single land the thirty-third spot on our year-end countdown.

The year is coming to a close and so to celebrate it Roughstock's editorial team has selected our favorite forty singles of the year. Coming in at number 34 is Taylor Swift with "Should've Said No."
