Thomas Rhett Celebrates 19th #1 Hit With “Slow Down Summer”

Multi-Platinum star hits the road this summer while celebrating the 13th-consecutive radio #1 with the single from "Where We Started" and the simultaneous release of follow-up hit "Half of Me," a track featuring Riley Green.

A decade into his recording career, Thomas Rhett has certainly made a name for himself with both his songwriting and is artistry as he’s scored 19th #1 hit “Slow Down Summer,” a single from his just-released album Where We Started. The single will be followed by his duet with Riley Green, “Half Of Me.”

"Today is a really cool day," Thomas Rhett said. "I'm pretty blown away to be celebrating my 19th No. 1 with 'Slow Down Summer' and the release of my new single 'Half Of Me.' I wrote both of these songs with my dad, which is special to me, and several other truly incredible songwriters. I hope fans have as much fun singing along to 'Half Of Me' as we did writing it."

Slow Down Summer” was co-written by Thomas Rhett, his father Rhett Akins, Sean Douglas, Jesse Frasure and Ashley Gorley. The song topped the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week.

The duet with Riley Green, “Half Of Me,” was written by Thomas Rhett, Rhett Akins, William Bundy and Josh Thompson. It’s a playful ditty that beckons listeners to put away their honey do list and to kick back and enjoy an ice cold beer.

"Thomas Rhett always puts out great songs, and I was excited when he asked me to sing on this one,” added Green. “It’s going to be a fun beer-drinking song for the summer.”

Thomas Rhett has earned Eight ACM Awards, including an Entertainer of the Year Award, two CMA Awards, five Grammy Awards nominations plus trophies from the CMT Music Awards, Billboard Awards and iHeartRadio Awards.

yeah that's an achievement though it for example took the Beatles about 6 1/2 years to score 20 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 though they had split up before they had their last two #1 singles Let It Be in May 1970 and Long And Winding Road in June 1970 after they split on April 17th 1970 the only artist close to breaking that record for most #1s on the pop charts is Mariah Carey who currently has 19 and holds the record for most cumulative weeks at #1 with 87 as of Holiday season 2021 and All I Want For Christmas Is You is the highest certified holiday song by the RIAA at diamond for sales exceeding 10,000,000 copies and is second best selling Holiday song in the UK with sales over 3.6 million so is certified 6x BPI platinum plat for singles in the UK is 600,000 and the song sells about 300,000 a year in the UK
