Carly Pearce and Lee Brice Celebrate #1 Hit “I Hope You’re Happy Now”

The single is Pearce’s second chart topper and Brice’s 6th. Get their reactions to the chart-topping news here!

There’s a vulnerability in the vocal from both Carly Pearce and Lee Brice during the duration of “I Hope You’re Happy Now” that’s often rare in modern music, let alone country music. It’s a sound that often surfaces in Kentucky native Pearce’s music and has helped her become only one of four female singers to top the charts with their debut single (“Every Little Thing”) since 2015. The #1 status of “I Hope You’re Happy Now” showcases the love that radio and critics have for both artists as well (as Brice returned after a brief hiatus and Pearce has yet to miss the Top 40 at radio). Fans seem to love the song as well as it has 207 million streams (and still growing) since release.

“Life is crazy and takes you places you never thought, making the most beautify moments,” reflects Carly, who penned the track alongside Luke Combs, Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana. “Thank you, Lee, for lending your incredible voice to this song. What started as my apology to someone from my past made me realize we all fall short sometimes. I’m so very grateful for life’s lessons and celebrating this No. 1. Country radio and all of you who embraced this song … thank you!”

"I am still so humbled that Carly asked me to be a part of her story with this perfect country duet. I want to say thank you to the Country music community, its fans and JR Schumann at SiriusXM for suggesting me to Carly.  Being on top of the charts again with the perfect partner means the world to me!" expressed Lee.

Both look forward to releasing follow-up singles soon but will enjoy the success this song has given them in these uncertain times.
