    a few of those are multi platinum including Mariah's All I Want For Christmas Is You which in total since its release 25 years ago has sold in excess of 7,000,000 copies and Chris Stapleton's version of Tennessee Whiskey is 6 x platinum as of July 2019 also AIWFCIY's parent album Merry Christmas has sold more than 6 million copies since its 1st November 1994 release its one of six of her albums released in the 90's to have sold at least 5 million units in the US including 3 reissues 2005 Dual Disc 2015 Red Vinyl picture disc and this years 25th anniversary edition which includes her Christmas concert for the Cathedral of St John the Divine in NY in 1994 and the first single release of AIWFCIY which Columbia records withheld in 1994 to make more people buy the Merry Christmas album which worked out well 3 million copies were shipped in the US until December 27th 1994 earning the album a 3 x platinum RIAA Certification 4 x platinum in 1996 5 x platinum January 30th 2003 and 6 x platinum in October 2019 the album has 900,000,000 streams through Christmas Eve and thus more than 950,000,000 through the end of the tracking week yesterday 26th December
