Darius Rucker announces "When Was The Last Time"

See when you can expect to see the superstar's latest project in stores and why his new producer meant so much to the project.

After scoring another #1 hit “If I Told You” earlier this year, Grand Ole Opry superstar Darius Rucker made the announcement this week, on Tuesday’s TODAY Show, that he will release his fifth album via Capitol Records Nashville, When Was The Last Time, on Friday, October 20.

The album is the first project of Darius’ to be helmed by rising producer Ross Copperman (Dierks Bentley, Brett Eldridge, Keith Urban) and promises to bring more classic songs like “Wagon Wheel,” “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” and “Southern Style” to fans across the world.

In a story with Billboard, Darius discussed what Ross Copperman brought to the table as his collaborator on this project.

“On top of being a genius with the equipment, Ross is so high-energy and funny; that kid is never not laughing.”  He added, “Every time we were in the studio we had a great band who had great ideas of their own, so it was the farthest thing from tedious, but just, let’s get in and do it. I think for the whole record we spent just three days tracking music.”

Below is the cover art for the album which also features the new hit single “For The First Time” (a song written by Darius with Derek George and Travis Hill).
