Vince Gill To Join The Eagles This Summer

The man who once turned down the Dire Straits has decided to join The Eagles for a pair of concert dates this summer.

In what can only be deemed a dream come true for Country Music Hall of Fame legend Vince Gill, he is getting the opportunity to join The Eagles for their two festival gigs this year. Joining Glenn Frey's son Deacon Frey, Vince Gill will step in for the late icon as the lead vocalist on Frey-fronted songs during the sets at Classic East  and Classic West.

"In my mind, I always thought I'd have made a good Eagle," Gill tells the Los Angeles Times. "But in a million years, I never would have seen this coming. It's pretty surreal. I turned 60 recently, and to get to be a part of this amazing legacy of songs, that's the greatest part of all this for me."

Vince Gill’s part in these shows came up after he participated in the Kennedy Center Honors program last December, a program which saluted the Eagles.
