With their lead single from Obsessed hitting #1, the three time CMA Vocal Duo of the Year nominees Dan+Shay have revealed “How Not To” as the follow-up single to “From The Ground Up.” The talented vocal duo also writes most of their material with studio wiz Dan Smyers serving as the co-producer for all of their music while Shay Mooney showcases why the band’s gotten so popular with fans in just a short time with his powerful lead vocals.
“How Not To” has started its radio airplay life as the most-added new single on country radio this week and the song is about a hard-to-forget relationship. Ironically, the duo — which writes most of their music — didn’t write the tune, their friends Adam Hambrick, Paul DiGiovanni and Kevin Bard did.
To celebrate the release of the single, the duo will premiere it on national tv on ABC’s juggernaut late night program Jimmy Kimmel Live. The duo will also hit the UK for a sold-out run of dates while also headlining their own North American tour with rising singer/songwriter Walker Hayes opening.
The recent #1 from Obsessed, "From The Ground Up," is the Gold-certified follow-up single to the #1 Gold-certified hit "Nothin' Like You." The duo's first single, "19 You+Me," was certified Platinum. The duo is the only country duo (in SoundScan's modern era) to ever score #1 debuts with their first two projects, 2014's Where It All Began and Obsessed.
