Michael Ray Celebrates First No. 1 Single With "Kiss You in the Morning"

Singer toasts rare success with first chart single from his self-titled album out this week.

This week has been a very exciting one for newcomer Michael Ray who is experiencing his very first No. 1 single. "Kiss You in the Morning," Ray's debut to country radio, claims the top spot. With the single garnering the highest one-week total number of spins in Country Aircheck history, Ray becomes the first debut male artist to have a No. 1 single since Sam Hunt last year and the only debut male to achieve a No. 1 in 2015 so far.

“Having my debut single go No. 1 is something I've imagined and worked for my entire life," says Ray. "This dream started when I was 9 years old singing in my grandpa’s country band in Eustis, FL. Music connects people like nothing else and I'm blessed I get to go out onstage every night and hopefully make people forget about their worries, at least for a few hours. I can't say thank you enough to everyone who has helped me make this happen and to everyone who has supported me and my music to get me to this place. “

Ray released his debut album from Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville this past Friday. The Scott Hendricks-produced 12-track album captures all the best of Ray, the singer-songwriter and guitarist who’s spent more than half his life performing for ever-growing crowds.

Ray will be joining Kip Moore this fall for his “Wild Ones” tour kicking off this October. For more information visit www.michaelraymusic.com.
