John Berry Announces Kickstarter Campaign

“Standing On The Edge Of Goodbye” star is seeking $50k to fund recording of two disc set.

Moving to Nashville a year ago certainly has reinvigorated the singer/songwriter and powerhouse vocalist’s creative energy and he’s looking to record the follow-up to 2011’s RealMan.RealLife.RealGod project with funds allocated from his loyal fans via the kickstarter application, a crowdfunding source which is like the websites which have helped stars like Chely Wright, Wade Hayes and Sunny Sweeney fund projects directly from fan-interaction.

“Robin and I were given the chance to move to Nashville last summer and it has been awesome! I have been renewed musically and taken advantage of every opportunity I could to submerse myself into the writing world,” Berry said. “I cannot recall spending this much time writing since I last wrote Standing On The Edge Of Goodbye in 1995. I have truly enjoyed this resurgence of creativity.”

The untitled project will feture 10 new country songs along with a second disc featuring some inspirational and Christmas songs.

To secure the funding, John Berry is going through the crowdsourcing website Kickstarter for a second time. He’s hoping to recapture that success for the album and is asking for $50,000 to be funded in 40 days. If there’s any money that exceeds the initial goal, he already knows what he’ll do with the money.

"With our last Kickstarter campaign, we exceeded our goal and I believe we’ll do it again with this project,” Berry said. “Any monies raised above and beyond the $50,000 will be put towards some great marketing and promotion.”

Berry is excited to get back into the studio and get work. “I have been preparing for this new recording for two years. It's time to get started! Once the process begins, it will move quickly,” Berry said.
