Illness forces Shania Twain To Cancel Performances

The "You're Still The One" superstar was forced to cancel both weekend performances in Las Vegas.

Shania Twain's successful Las Vegas headlining run hit a sour note this past weekend as the superstar was forced to cancel her July 26 and 27 shows due to a bout of illness.

Twain posted the following message yesterday on her official Facebook page:
"I would like to apologize to all of you who had planned to come to my Vegas shows last night & tonight. I caught a very bad flue and am sick in bed at the moment and so sorry I can't be there.
"I am now on antibiotics with hopes of getting better soon. I will be back on stage in Vegas October 8th and will also be playing an outdoor concert on the 30th of August in Charlottetown Canada. Love, Shania"

The singer's over 4.6 million Facebook fans were quick to respond with wishes for a speedy recovery. Twain's resident show at Caesar's Palace has been a popular Vegas live attraction as well as a critical success since its December 2012 debut. This summer and fall will mark the final run of Vegas show dates for the multiplatinum-selling Country and Pop star, who has been busy working on her first album of new material since 2002.
