Maddie & Tae Deliver Buzzworthy Single "Girl In A Country Song"; Hits iTunes This Week

the fast-rising new duo deliver the flagship single to country radio with "Girl In A Country Song" and have fans abuzz, all with their first single from a new label.

The Big Machine Label Group has never been afraid to upset the apple cart, so to speak, so the fact that their flagship duo for new label imprint Dot Records, Maddie & Tae, have a single doing just that shouldn’t be surprising.

Written by the duo and writer/producer Aaron Scherz, “Girl In A Country Song” challenges some of the tropes and cliches often found in the male Country songs of the past couple of years, directly confronting the “Nashville machismo” (as The Atlantic magazine put it).

The duo’s thought process for writing and recording the single was directly aiming at why there hasn’t been a female point of view (or a voice) in the lyrics of said hit songs and admit the single is “all in good fun.”

“We don’t wanna bring the guys down, we just want to lift the ladies up as well,” says Tae.

The duo are on their first radio tour and “Girl In A Country song is set to hit iTunes Tuesday, July 15 with an official radio impact date (when record company suggest adding the song to radio station playlists) for Monday July 21.
