Country Album Chart News: The Week of April 16, 2014: Martina McBride's "Everlasting" Debuts On Top

Martina McBride has made an Everlasting impression on fans as her latest album debuts at #1 on the Top 10 Country Album sales chart. Find out where Carlene Carter, Ronnie Dunn debut along with how the ACM Awards affected the rest of the Top 10 and those just outside of it!

She may be on her own label now but Martina McBride still is achieving major chart results as Everlasting hits #1 on the Top 10 Country Albums chart (Top 10 all genre). Three albums from Country Music in Top 10 all-genre, top 5 Country albums in top 15!

Martina’s new label Vinyl Records is off to a flying start with Everlasting hitting the top of the chart with 21k sold its first week of release, outselling #2 (Luke Bryan) by 2k. This is her fourth #1 album and first since 2009's Shine. Sitting at #3 is Florida Gerogia Line with Here’s To The Good Times while Johnny Cash’s “Out Among The Stars” sits at #4. Rounding out the Top 5 is this year’s best-selling Country album, The Outsiders from Eric Church.

Dan+Shay, Kacey Musgraves, The ZinePak, Cole Swindell, and Blake Shelton round out Top 10.

Dan+Shay’s album slides from #1 to #6 this week and has now sold 38k in two weeks while Kacey Musgraves scores a 27% sales boost and has surpassed 400k in sales with her debut Grammy and ACM Award-winning Same Trailer Different Park. Blake Shelton’s at #8 with his 2013 release Based On A True Story. The 2014 ACM ZinePak (which has sold 38k) sits at #9 while Cole Swindell sits at #10 with the 140k selling self-titled album featuring “Chillin’ It” and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight.”

Notable albums include George Strait’s Love Is Everything, Jerrod Niemann’s High Noon and Justin Moore’s Off The Beaten Path while Darius Rucker’s “True Believers” has scanned Gold!

We start our notable (non Top 10) albums rundown with George Strait’s Love Is Everything. It has now sold 411k to date and gained 33% last week thanks to the ACM Awards performance. Jerrod Niemann’s High Noon has sold 26k in three weeks and is next on the rundown while Darius Rucker’s True Believers album surpassed the Gold certification mark this week and has now sold 502k. It was certified by the RIAA earlier this month.

Carlene Carter debuts at #40 with 1,400 copies of Carter Girl sold while Ronnie Dunn debuts at #55 with 1,000 copies of Peace, Love and Country Music. Next week Randy Rogers band will debut with the double live album Homemade Tamales: Live At Floore’s.
